• Private arbitrators now resolve many civil disputes.
• Many contracts provide arbitration clauses specifying how and who will resolve conflicts. They also provide ‘choice of law’ clauses, which specify which jurisdiction’s laws will govern the interpretation and enforcement of the contract.
