Overview
- Kids in kindergarten are not to steal, hit, or lie. This is why we teach them to keep their hands to themselves and not take the other kids’ toys without permission.
- Reasonable people agree with these rules! They are not controversial with anyone.
- The 3L Principle is simply an extension of the rules that have made sense to all of us since childhood: no initiating nonconsensual force, threats, fraud, or coercion. The 3L Principle also adds some obvious extensions of these playground rules that are needed in adult life: don’t breach a valid contract, breach a fiduciary duty, engage in unreasonable conduct causing harm, or deny due process.
- The 3L Philosophy takes these kindergarten rules and applies them equally to all individuals, groups, corporations, and governments.
