Overview
- In short, the 3LP is based on ancient wisdom that is found in all the major philosophical and spiritual traditions. It is the Golden Rule to treat others as we wish to be treated. This rule has simply been reframed and revitalised as the Live and Let Live Philosophy - we must not aggress and we should be excellent to one another.
Forming Live and Let Live
- No one wishes to be aggressed against. In fact, because this is the common moral root upon which we all agree, we can enshrine this in law.
- This Non-Aggression Principle has been refined by many religious thinkers, philosophers, economists, and lawyers over many years.
- The idea for Live and Let Live specifically was born under a starlit night near Flagstaff, Arizona, in conversation between Marc Victor and Rick Fisher. They were inspired by the idea that peace required more than just freedom; it requires goodwill between humanity. The 3L Movement was to be forever rooted in the positive vision of universal brotherly love, with freedom as a necessary prerequisite to achieving peace.
- One of Marc’s key contributions was highlighting that there are some grey area issues that even reasonable and freedom-valuing people will never fully agree on. 3L’s solution is to allow local communities to choose from all available reasonable options to resolve such matters; this is the only realistic path to peace.
- Marc Victor wrote the book entitled "The Live and Let Live Philosophy: How We Can Achieve Global Freedom, Peace, and Prosperity By Consistently Applying Two Fundamental Principles," which outlines an overall philosophy that several legal and philosophy experts read and provided feedback on before publication. The Global 3L Council, comprising experts in law, finance, military, medical, and business professionals spanning three different continents, also stress-tested the philosophy via consistent monthly calls and long email exchanges since 2021. Many volunteers from all over the world continue to contribute enthusiastically to bringing 3L into effect for all people.
